Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Post Office Strike. DESCRIPTION: The strike by members of the Postal Workers Union halts many vital services. Britain’s telephones, however, are manned by staff who braved pickets to work. Private operators - including a leather-clad motor cycle gang - set up special delivery services for letters and parcels. SHOTLIST: CU padlock on gates pan up to show idle GPO vans behind. Travel shot 3 scenes as Rockers ride through streets. SV Rockers stop outside YMCA. CU pillion rider dismounts pan as he walks to door. CU he puts letter through door. CU sign YMCA Metropolitan Union special services. SV old couple approach post office pan to sealed post boxes. CU old couple reading notice on box. CU sealed box & notice. CU sealed pillar box.
