Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Vesuvius. DESCRIPTION: It’s four thousand feet to the top of Mount Vesuvius but there’s no need to get into a lava about it. Coaches and cable cars take tourists to the rim of the crater from Naples. The volcano’s not considered dangerous now, but in 1944 it erupted violently. A chance to see again the spectacular film from Movietone’s Library showing the destruction of the village of San Sebastiano by a river of fire.
