Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Newry March. DESCRIPTION: Troops seal off the border town of Newry against Civil Rights Marchers. The march was illegal. Troops and police keep out of sight. 20,000 marchers, authorities and press wait for another bloody Sunday, but all was peaceful. SHOTLIST: MS pan soldiers setting up road blocks. MS soldier nailing barricades together. MS soldiers setting up barricades, fixing barbed wire. MS pan bulldozers driving down street to dump concrete barricades. MS concrete block in road. MS Major General Robert Ford (Commander of Land Forces) talking to police. MCU ditto, he turns and walks away. GV marchers. MS marchers along street. MS marchers and stewards standing.
