Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: International Motor Cycle Trials. DESCRIPTION: Riders from Europe, take part in the 8th International Motor Cycle Trials at Sancerre, 120 miles South of Paris. Riders and bikes face many obstacles, ditches, fallen trees and buzzing up the sides of quarries. Event won by Rathmell from Great Britain. SHOTLIST: TV motor-cyclist starts away down slope No 61. 6 MSs pan another contestant along track. Pan No 52 negotiates rocky track, No 53 rides up rocky slope and gets stuck. No 103 comes round track and gets stuck on rock. Pan No 61 rides up slope past spectators, pan No 104 rides down dip and round bend between trees. TV No 72 riding along ditch. MS No 79 rides along ditch and gets stuck as he tries to ride up bank at end of ditch. MS No 59 rides along track and up steep slope, he turns at top of slope and nearly falls back onto track below. Official helps hold machine up. MS pan No 81 rides up slope and slips off bike at top, he gets back on and continues course. LS No 61 rides down slope (officials at top of slope) & away round course. MCU pan No 61 up slope and past officials. MLS No 47 slips off back of bike on steep rocky slope. MS pan No 73 rides up to slope, gets stuck at top, jumps off bike and bike falls over. MS No 67 winner (Rathmell) rides down slope and up another round of tricky bends and up another hill towards judges and officials.
