- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Airship Europa - Part Colour. DESCRIPTION: Colour film of the first British airship to fly in this country in 20 years. Called the ‘Europa’ it was assembled in the same hangar that housed the R100 & R101. R101 later crashed in France. The American company of Goodyears are the builders of this craft. As a firm of airship constructors they’re fairly experienced. Altogether they’ve built 300. Europa’s maiden flight went perfectly and everyone was pleased. Later it’ll be based in Rome and will do European promotion work. SHOTLIST: Black and White Section [92 feet, 61 seconds] - GV Cardigan airship sheds.
