MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Badminton Horse Trials. DESCRIPTION: For the second year running with about 70 horses entered, Lt Phillips on ‘Ovation’ won the Badminton Horse Trials. The trials were watched by the Royal Family. Unfortunately Princess Anne did not compete, nor will she be entered for the Olympics, because of an injury to her horse ‘Doublet’. SHOTLIST: LS Badminton House. MS pan horses waiting to start. MS royal family. LS No 20 Marcus round course. GV crowds on course. LS pan No 19 Centurian over jumps. MS Princess Margaret, Lord Snowdon & kids watching. LS towards No 33 comes up to water jump (Island Monarch), he jumps fence, rider falls off into water. MS people watching. MLS pan jockey remounts & continues round course. MS Queen Mother & Prince Charles. MS No 57 Eagle Rock at start. MS time keeper. MS pan No 57 through starting gates & away round course. MS pan No 60 Cornishman V starts away. MS pan No 61 (Captain Mark Phillips winner for 2nd time) starts. MS royal family watching. LS pan No 23 over jumps Gurgle the Greek. LS towards & pan No 32 (Depeche, Australian) over water jump. MS crowds watching. MLS pan No 31 (Benka, Ireland) over water jump. LS towards & pan No 14 (Gavelacre) over jumps. MS towards, Princess Anne training on Doublet jumps fence. MS pan Anne riding Doublet.
