Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Scotland V Northern Ireland. DESCRIPTION: In an uninspired game, Scotland beat Ireland 2 nil, at Hampden Park, Glasgow. The biggest upset was off the field, when an Irish player decided not to turn up for the match, but flew to Southern Spain and has announced that he is going to quit the game for good. SHOTLIST: GV teams out onto pitch. GV mass crowds cheering. SV referee blows whistle as Scotland kick off (white shorts) from right to left, zoom back to GV. LV crowds watching. SV No 6 for Ireland David Clements, passes to outside right No 2 Pat Rice who centres, ball headed towards goal for Bobby Clarke to save & clear. GV outside right for Scotland centres, goalie Pat Jennings saves at 46’ and clears. CU pan Denis Law. LV Ireland attacking up field, Irish player shoots at goal, Clarke saves, zoom back to GV. LV pan crowds at half time. SV Scotland attack, Law with ball, he passes to outside right No 2 John Brownlie who centres, but ball is cleared. GV crowds. SV pan Scotland’s Archie Gemmill running with ball, he passes to Law who then passes back to Lorimer, he receives it at 100’. SV Jennings. GV Law scoring for Scotland, zoom into Law being congratulated by Lorimer, pan to GV crowds cheering. SV pan Law. LV Ireland centering ball, headed clear up field, Scotland attack. SCU pan Billy Bremner dribbling with ball, he passes. SCU Gemmill receives ball & passes on. GV Lorimer scores 2nd goal, for Scotland in injury time. Pan to players congratulating Lorimer. GV mass crowds cheering. SV zoom back, Lorimer shakes hands with team mates.
