MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Golden Hinde Launched. DESCRIPTION: A replica of the original Golden Hinde is launched by the Countess of Devon at Appledore. The owners plan to sail the Atlantic to San Francisco. SHOTLIST: GV pan sea and coast line at Devon. GV pan builders shed at Appledore where the Golden Hinde will be launched. LV showing stern of the Hinde in a launching shed. AS ditto. GV pan interior Hinde in the stocks ready for launching. CU women in period costume looking at an old cannon. GV arrival of Drake, Queen Elizabeth I and Roundheads. CU Roundheads. CU Queen Elizabeth I followed by ladies in waiting. GV women eating toffee apple. GV Drake hands Queen Elizabeth I a sword, she knights Sir Francis Drake. CU pan Cavaliers with swords. GV sword fence duel. CU Cavalier with sword. CU drawing of quarter deck of Hinde.
