MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Channel Tunnel Digging. DESCRIPTION: Tunnelling research in the Chilterns at Chinnor, Oxfordshire, with speculation about the Channel Tunnel. SHOTLIST: GV machine on site. SLV ditto pan to front of tunnelling machine. SV TS in towards cutting face of machine. SV mechanic at controls of cutter. CU stop start buttons, cut in ignition key holder with key in it, a hand pushes the start button. STV tunnelling machine. AS blades rotating. SV tunneling machine. SV cutting blades rotating. SCU cutter revolving (cutting heads are not yet fitted). SV cutter rotating pan to chalk face of cliff. SV exterior machine operating SV conveyor belt. STV ditto pan along to end of conveyor belt. SV end of conveyor belt rotating. GV tunnelling machine in Chilterns.
