Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Motor Cycle Trial. DESCRIPTION: The 1974 Bruce Dominey Cup Motor Cycle Trial in Middlesex. The conditions are muddy, the course complicated and the falls very frequent. SHOTLIST: CU rider putting on helmet. CU another ditto. CU bike being kick started. CU hand on throttle. BV exhaust fumes coming from bike. CU front wheel as bike pulls away. LV No 21 going along track in between saplings. SV No 24 going up slight hill on track, tracking shot passing ground from bike (rider’s eye view). LV rider going down one side of long dip and up the other. BV ditto another he reaches the top of the other side & falls off. CU nearside of dip edge as rider comes up into view pan. SV rider off bike on one side of hip holding onto his bike as it slides down with him. SCU bike going along muddy dip. CU bike wheel slipping on mud. SV pan No 13 manoeuvring through woods & trees. CU back wheel of bike skidding on mud, bike falls over. SV pan rider manoeuvring over muddy track in wood. LV rider going through muddy water and having to put a foot down. FV rider coming up over bump then down & dip into muddy water. FV rider going through water then up over bump. LV rider going down water. SV rider getting stuck at top of hill & having to go back. CU pan bike through water. BV of rider falling off as he goes up bank. FV rider going through muddy water, another ditto (slushy mud). LBV rider going up hill and near top losing power, he jumps off, rider going up same hill near top, falls off. ABV rider near top of hill jumps off. SV rider getting near top, falls off. SV rider falling off near top. LV rider roaring up hill & just makes it, pan as he turns then rides down again.
