Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Oil Slick. DESCRIPTION: A collision in the English Channel led to a leakage of oil which threatened the beaches of the South Coast. Almost immediately ‘Vicoma’ goes into action skimming up the oil and sucking it through a pipe into a waiting lorry. SHOTLIST: MV oil on beach, Folkestone. MCU ditto. WA barrier across harbour. MLS tilt up from sea to Vicoma in water. TS Vicoma in water. MV Vicoma on shore pan to man at controls. MCU man at controls pan to dials. CU dials. MLS Vicoma in sea pan to pipeline to lorry on shore. MLS rope dragging oil down to sea. MV pan over oil pipe to lorry. MLS pull back from men on plant which separates gas and petrol from incoming oil - CARD 75/356.
