Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Pancake Race. DESCRIPTION: The contestants in the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Race, held at Lincoln’s Inn Fields, were all National Beauty Queens. The winner was Janet Withey, the current ‘Miss Britain’. SHOTLIST: MCU girls putting on lipstick (ex beauty queens). Various girls ditto. MLS looking down course. MS sign ‘Start’. MS competitors at starting line. MCU along line of pans and girls. MS Miss Jif, Clair Russell, firing gun to start the race. MLS girls running towards camera. MS race finishing. CU the winner Janet Withy (Miss Britain 1976/1977). MCU winner tossing a pancake which falls, tosses it again and succeeds.
