- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Boat Race. DESCRIPTION: Cambridge were considered the underdogs for this year’s University Boat Race and it proved to be so, as Oxford took the lead from beginning. The weather conditions were rough, with a blustery wind whipping up the waters of the River Thames. To Oxford went the resounding victory of beating Cambridge by seven lengths.
