Summary
NoS synopsis: Covers the development of antibiotics, starting with the description of antibiotic action by Louis Pasteur, the discovery of penicillin by Sir Alexander Fleming and his collaboration with Florey and Chain. The discovery of Professor Brotzu of the antibacterial fungus, Cephalosporium is described and the subsequent development work by Dr Abrahamm, Dr Newton and Dr Dorothy Hodgkin which led to the production of Ceporin.
