- Summary
- COI synopsis: Alarm systems - often a crucial element in securing safety, but they can also have a critical role to play in ensuring efficiency in other areas. A tiny sex-trap hanging in the fields is providing a new kind of alarm for pea farmers. Minute dabs of artificial sex-scent lure male moths to a sticky end in the traps - and the build up of numbers gives farmers a clear visual warning of the right time to spray to protect their crops.
