Summary
COI synopsis: Many of Britain’s stately homes are finding a new lease of life with the attractions they are offering to the public. One of the most unusual is the special bird garden at Harewood House in Yorkshire. Michele Brown visits the garden where over 500 birds - including many exotic varieties from all over the world - provide a natural ornithological study centre for local children, all set in a garden designed over two centuries ago.
Researcher Comments
Features Peter Brown, curator of the Harewood Bird Garden. The original garden was created over 200 years earlier by Capability Brown
