Summary
COI synopsis: Five years ago Holme Pierrepont was a desolate tract of gravel pits. Today, it’s a purpose-built gathering place of Olympic standards for watersports enthusiasts from Britain and all over the world. Michele Brown samples the competitive atmosphere and colour of the World Junior Rowing Championships - in the heart of England’s industrial Midlands.
