Summary
COI synopsis: Even a burglar who takes all the time-honoured precautions against detection may find that he’s put his foot in it... literally. Plastic granules can reveal in some detail where shoes have trod, since they adhere to the electrostatic charges set up when someone is on the carpet. Not only does the pattern on the sole of the shoe show up, but detectives may soon find themsleves looking for a pair of fallen arches.
