- NoS synopsis: ‘Filmed at Perivale’. ‘Meet the girls of the London "Poly" walking out (on a three-mile race, to be precise)'. Various shots linked by dissolves of girls waiting to start a speed walking race. They stand on the start line flexing their legs. "Heel and toe" - our slow-motion camera shows every action." M/S of the girls starting off filmed in slow motion. They walk towards the camera. Low angle shots of the girls walking past. C/U of their legs. Low angle of the girls walking towards and past the camera. Various shots of the girls striding along. "Many a mere man en route for the 8.20am will envy the freedom of these strapping young ladies." Moving shot - probably filmed from a car of the girls walking towards the camera. M/S of a group of children standing on a gate watching the race. More shots of the race. ‘No canters allowed here - only walk-overs count’. Moving shot from behind the girls as they walk along. C/U of a female spectator. More shots of the race and judges. Girls seen walking in slow motion from the side. Finishing line. C/U of the winner - number 12.
