Summary

NoS Summary - Tame silver foxes and squirrels are seen being fed and petted.
British Pathe synopsis: "Filmed at Llanishen, Chepstow". "When the weather grows chilly, woman’s thoughts fly to "dreams" of furs - and particularly the silver fox kind!" Panning shot of a hillside stacked with little cages to hold foxes. L/S of woman feeding fox through the wire of its cage. C/U of the fox being fed. M/S of a fox running around. "Nervous and shy - in their sleek beauty - seems almost a pity to think they’ll eventually adorn some smart lady." M/S of woman inside one of the cages feeding two foxes by hand. M/S of a fox eating from a saucer on the ground. Woman strokes its tail as it eats. Fox jumps up and takes food from the woman’s hand. She strokes the fox. M/S of cameraman lying on the ground filming the foxes with an amateur cine camera. Fox comes very close to cameraman and eats from his hand. "This, British bred, is a real beauty - and he’s worth over £200!" C/U of a fox on a woman’s lap being stroked. C/U of fox in woman’s arm. The fox barks and struggles. "Perhaps, however, he’ll remain a pet!" M/S of the woman lying on some hay with the fox standing on top of her. She feeds it sweets from a box. Woman walks along carrying the fox. C/U of fox in woman’s arms. She lets the fox down, it is on a lead. She then climbs into the passenger seat of a car, still holding the fox. Man drives off. C/U of the fox sitting on the woman’s back as she is driven along. "And here’s another sort of pet -" M/S of a woman holding a tame squirrel in her hand. Squirrel climbs up a tree. C/U of squirrel sitting on a branch. Squirrel climbs down to take food from the woman’s hand. M/S of a woman inside a house, she encourages the squirrel onto the window ledge with food. Squirrel comes inside to take the food. "Baby, too, has her wants attended to -" Baby squirrel is fed with a little bottle of milk - C/U.
