Summary
NoS Summary - French girls exercise in the open air.
British Pathe synopsis: "The healthy athletic British girls have led the world so long in the outdoor type, that we are apt to overlook the progress made by our friends across the Channel." M/S of large group of French women performing an exercise routine. They sit on the ground and exercise in unison. They lean from side to side, wave their arms in the air, wiggle their feet etc. "Years ago, fond Mamma in Paris would have fainted at the idea of Marie or Jeanne trying these health-giving mass exercises." The girls do some air-cycling, stretching, handstands, etc. "As for parallel-bar work, such things were never heard of in Mamma’s days - !" L/S of the girls exercising in the open air on parallel bars. M/S of the girls hanging, stretching, balancing etc. "But, occasionally someone does find things hard!" L/S of the girls doing a kind of handstand on the bars, one of the girls struggles, then falls off.
