NoS Summary - Story about harvesting water lilies from a pond in Lingfield, Surrey.
British Pathe synopsis: "Here’s a quaint, little-known industry of England - harvesting water lilies - (at Lingfield)." M/S of old timbered cottage. Woman stands beside the cottage with a basket in her hand. She picks up a long pole that is propped up against the cottage. "All you need is a nice calm day - water lilies refuse to open if the weather’s cold and windy - !" L/S of a boat floating on a pond. C/U of two women leaning out of the boat picking the lilies. There are three women and one man in the little boat. The man uses the pole to push the boat along. "If ordinary flowers are "daughters of the earth" - these must be water babies!" C/U of the girls, one closest to camera bunches some of the flowers together. C/U of a bunch of lilies. There is a dog in the boat too. L/S of the boat moving through some tall reeds. L/S of woman with basket walking back towards the cottage.
