Summary
NoS Summary - Girl spectators watch their men roar around the track at Brooklands.
British Pathe synopsis: "Not coal, or other mineral pits, but the ones at Brooklands - where a big motor race is occupying some Adam in trying to "lap" quicker than any other fellow." M/S of two racing cars in the pits. Car drives off. M/S of group of spectators behind a metal fence. Shot of the cars speeding around the track. "In the turmoil of speeding cars, anxious women watch their men-folk hurtle round the track , at over 100 miles an hour - ready to help at a moment’s notice with oil, spare parts, and a hundred and one things that may be necessary." M/S of group of people watching the racing. More shots of the cars racing around. Low angle of spectators on the stands. M/S of woman looking anxious and writing things down in a book. More shots of the race and of the women and men watching from the pits. M/S of car in the pits. Driver takes his scarf off. "Great sport - but now and again a tug at the heart when Eve thinks of what might happen." M/S of two women in pits looking a bit worried. Racing footage. Woman sits on table in pits watching the race - she checks her watch. An advertising sign for Rover Cars is visible beside the track. The chequered flag is waved.
