- HM hospital ship ‘Rohilla’ wrecked off the Yorkshire coast near Whitby in a gale. The ship sailed from Leith and was to aid wounded and dying soldiers in Dunkirk. 85 people died. Newsfilm Online gives title as ‘Wreck Off North East Coast’ (ID 10326). Item number unknown.
