- Summary
- BFI synopsis: LS the competing boats in the middle of the Thames waiting for the start (A Norman church is visible in the bg on the opposite bank). The race begins, and the camera pans L to follow the boats along the river (209). HA shot from bridge above river, the losing boat moving through the water. As the boat moves forward the camera tilts up to include the boat ahead. Two small steam powered boats enter shot following the teams (223). ELS teams racing. Two men in a rowboat in the fg. Crowds of people watching on the opposite bank, some rushing to keep level with the teams. The camera pans L following the boats, revealing many small boats in the fg and the heads of some spectators. The race ends
