Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: HM the King Unveils Vimy Memorial. DESCRIPTION: HM The King unveils Vimy Memorial. SHOTLIST: Long shot of the memorial and crowds in foreground. Close shot of the memorial. Shots of Vimy ridge in 1917. Ruined village and crucifix. Men marching at front. Shot of the original cross commemorating the Canadians. Planes flypast over new monument. Aerial shot of same. President Lebrun arrives and greets King Edward. They walk to memorial. Close shot of King speaking. He then draws aside the flag and unveils the monument. Close shot of this. The ceremony ends with fanfare. The King and M Lebrun leave. Crowds look at the monument. Shots of wreaths being laid. Aerial of the monument and crowds.
