Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Eros Is Restored to Piccadilly Circus. DESCRIPTION: Gilbert’s statue effects nocturnal return to his familiar pedestal at London’s hub. SHOTLIST: Shot of statue on lorry. Piccadilly Circus at night with scaffolding around statue. Crowd watch the statue replaced. Searchlight on same. (This could be floodlight). Traffic along street in Circus at night with usual crowds on pavement. This is an elevated shot to start with. Later cars etc. passing shop window with "Xmas Gifts" sign illuminated. CU of statue. Although the Electric Signs are shown in this story they are mostly as background to Eros and scaffolding and could hardly be used as good shots for illustrating London at night.
