MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Samoan Clipper & Centaurus Arrive in Auckland. SHOTLIST: Back from her survey flight to New Zealand, the flying boat Centaurus comes down on Sydney Harbour. She has crossed and re-crossed the Tasman with the ease of an ocean liner, and it has taken her just 10 hours to doe the journey. The only passenger to alight, Mr White, the Minister for Customs, has been on the trip just to prove the Government’s faith in the new carriers of the Empire Airmail. Story - US "Clipper" and "Centaurus" meet in Auckland on Survey Flights For Regular Mail Service. Long shot of the Clipper in the air. Landing on water in Sydney Harbour. Long shots of the other flying boat in the air. Shots of the plane landing. British, American, and other flags fly together. Welcoming of the crews.
