MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Empire Athletes at Practice. SHOTLIST: The Empire’s athletes gather in Sydney for the 1938 Empiad. In celebration of the 150th year of the British settlement in Australia. No sooner are the flags of the teams from the British Isles hoisted over Empire village, than the teams go into active training. A group of England’s cyclists gives a warm welcome to Janky Das, India’s sole representative at the Games. Scotland has sent over Tiny Dudgeon whose 20 stone should leave its mark in the wrestling ring.
