Summary
RECORD HOLIDAY CROWDS ENJOY GENIAL SUNSHINE In Hyde Park. The River attracted thousands. Clacton - and every other seaside resort - reported record crowds. Tens of thousands teamed to the Races. Here’s the race for the Queen’s Prize at Kempton Park. There was an almost unbroken line of motorists from London to Land’s End. Nearly all climbed the 1 in 3 gradient at Beggar’s Roost - some were helped, of course. Fine cycle racing at Herne Hill attracted big gate. WJ Bailey scored popular win over E Kaufmann world’s greatest sprint champion. ... and the motor cyclists’ grand national and charity race was a thriller for the thousands at the Crystal Palace.
