Summary
Flood sufferers, despite rapid rise of the floods, cheerfully "keep on carrying on." Miss May Ruffell wins a wager by swimming length of main street at Maidenhead. As it was in the olden days. The Tower Moat was flooded for first time since 1843. 15 lives were lost as Thames burst its banks in heart of London.
