Summary
Enormous crowds in glorious sunshine, see "FELSTEAD" (ridden by H Wragg) win from "Flamingo" and "Black Watch" for Sir Hugo Cuncliffe-Owen. The Downs were covered for miles around with an almost unbroken "sea" of motor cars. Few, very few came in the traditional Derby Day way - the "Four-in-hand". The King and Queen and Royal party had a great reception. and in slow motion.
