Summary
from Tokyo - only beaten by 2 points (34-31) [sic] by strong Achilles team. Mikio Oda beat record with 24 ft 1 inch long jump. Horishi Kasahara won pole jump 12 ft 0 1/2 inches. Despite magnificent effort by JWH Rinkel in the last lap, the Japs won the 440 yards relay.
