Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Melbourne Cup, 1938. DESCRIPTION: The race is won by 8 year old "Catalogue". SHOTLIST: Thousands of people arrive at the Flemington Race Course for the 1938 running of the Melbourne Cup. Fashions and society are well represented and among the spectators is Sir Alan Curries. Chairman of the VRC. The horses parade before the race which is won by Catalogue, with Bourbon second and Allunga third. Other horses were "The Trump", "Aitchengee" (5th), "Marauder", "Saint Constant", "Royal Chief" (4th), "Spear Chief" and "Queen of Song".
