Summary
Walter Hammond wins the toss and Australia take the field. Barnett and Hutton open for England. After lunch the teams meet the King who is seen here with Don Bradman. Hammond then introduces his team. Hammond gets a double century partnered by Paynter and later Ames. England finish at 409 in the first day. On the second day England’s final total is 494. Australia takes over and Bradman scores 18.
