- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Visit to Durham. DESCRIPTION: The King and Queen open the Team Valley Trading Estate at Gateshead. SHOTLIST: Accompanied by Mr Ernest Brown, their Majesties tour a training centre. Next day they are given a great welcome at Durham where they make an appearance on the balcony of the town hall with Mr Brown, Lord and Lady Londonderry and the Mayor and Mayoress. Then their Majesties visit Tow Law. As part of the tour the royal pair open the Team Valley Estate. Issue Story GV the King inspects soldiers. GV Their Majesties on dais. MS AS King & Queen each pull ribbon to open estate but bow won’t untie. GV dais. MS The King cuts ribbon with scissors and smiles broadly.
