Summary
Republican Party Convention hears nominations. Tom Dewey is named first, then Senator Taft and Wendell Wilkie. Dewey leads on the first three ballots but by the sixth it’s down to Wilkie and Taft. Then Ohio concedes and moves for a unanimous vote, and Wilkie is the Republican candidate for the Office of President of the USA.
