- The six thousand acre wilderness of Feltwell Fen in South West Norfolk is taken over by the Ministry of Agriculture who set to work at reclaiming the idle acres. New drainage works and pumping plants are put into operation. Farming implements roll across the land which is already producing this year thousands of tons of potatoes, sugar-beet and grain crops.
