- Summary
- The US Pacific Fleet attack Japanese bases in the South Sea Islands. Planes on an aircraft carrier prepare for a mass assault on the Marshall and Gilbert Islands. Then the ships’ guns open up on the Japanese coastal defences. Jap planes attempt to attack the fleet but are unsuccessful.
