Summary
British and American lease-lend material travelling to China and Burma. The urgency for material is so great that two-way traffic must be maintained. Troops as well as war material are transported. To relieve traffic on the road (which is constantly being repaired by coolie labourers) a new railway line is being rushed ahead. This in turn means that tons of rice have to be transported to the workers. The American Medical Mission is playing a large part in China spraying river banks with arsenic dust as a precaution against mosquitos which breed in the fever-infested waters. They are also issuing quinine pills as a check against yellow fever, dysentery and typhoid.
