Summary
As the Russian army continues its advance in the Northern Caucasus and liberates towns and villages the inhabitants return to their homes only to find heaps of rubble that had been houses and bodies of loved ones, victims of German firing squads. At Schlusselburg near Leningrad the Russians hit a strong pocket of resistance and fight ones of the fiercest engagements prior to the relief of Leningrad.
