Summary
3,000 British and American troops gather in the amphitheatre at Carthage to hear Mr Churchill address them. He expresses heartfelt thanks of two nations for all they have done in North Africa. Then on a further tour of inspection he goes among American troops and then inspects lines of a Guards Regiment. Joined by Mr Eden he reviews men of the Armoured Corps. Then on to RAF HQ where, accompanied by Air Chief Marshal Tedder, he has lunch. Then on to another camp where Mr Churchill speaks to troops from rear of a lorry. At General Eisenhower’s HQ with Generals Marshall, Eisenhower, and Eden, he has further talks.
