Macbeth
- Synopsis
- Originally directed by Trevor Nunn for The Other Place, Stratford, the studio production envisaged a small group of actors creating the play before a small audience in an intimate atmosphere of the utmost intensity. This version, with Judi Dench and Ian McKellen, was restaged for television in 1979. It retains the original RSC cast and wherever possible uses the original RSC costumes, props and sets. Trevor Nunn’s outstanding production is re-imagined as an astonishing piece of television with two extraordinary leading performances.
