Her Majesty Commands ...
- Synopsis
- Second of three programmes of ‘fact and fancy’ concerned with Shakespeare’s Welsh characters.
H. P. Burton’s dramatic feature tells the story of the first production of King Henry IV, Part 1, and offers a possible explanation of the marked Welsh element in some of Shakespeare’s plays. The scene opens at the Stratford-upon-Avon Guildhall and later moves to London and Windsor. Characters besides Shakespeare who appear are Thomas Jenkins, the Welsh schoolmaster of Stratford Grammar School, Queen Elizabeth, Richard Burbage, and Richard Quinney. - Language
