- Radio version of Shakespeare’s comedy recorded live in front of an audience at the WDR broadcasting house in Cologne. Adapted for radio by Renato Gruenig and Thomas Leutzbach with Klaus Mehrlnder as director. Both Felix von Manteuffel (Oberon/Theseus) and Leslie Malton (Titania/Hippolyta) also act as narrator. Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s incidental music is performed by the Cologne station orchestra and chorus. Helmut Foschauer conducts.
