Synopsis
Topical arts magazine series presented by Andrew Graham-Dixon. Includes a c7 minute item, presented by Clemency Burton-Hill, on Juliet and her Romeo, a version of Romeo and Juliet at Bristol Old Vic Theatre directed and adapted by Tom Morris, in which the lovers are in their 80s and their children, not their parents, are seeking to prevent an imprudent match. Tom Morris talks briefly on the interior of the theatre and its use of spaces. There are scenes in the rehearsal room, an extract from the new prologue spoken by Nurse, Sian Phillips (Juliet) and Michael Byrne (Romeo) are seen speaking, plus one line from Mercutio, all interleaved with comments by Morris.
