Career

Whitten is recorded as the cameraman who supplied the item ‘RE-ENTER DE VALERA’ for No.397-1 of Topical Budget in April 1919. This is presumably Norman Whitten, who in 1917 formed the Irish film company General Film Supply, which produced the Irish Events newsreel, which ran until 1920. Whitten also made the feature film ‘In the Days of St Patrick’ (1920) for his Film Company of Ireland.
