- Troops advancing through Catania. Engineers with mine detectors clearing stretch of road before bren gun carrier moves through. Some Sicilian civilians start to loot buildings that the Germans have evacuated and British troops have to restore order. Elsewhere in Catania the troops are given a good reception.
