- Summary
- While supporting the allied landings at Salerno, the USS Savannah sustains a direct hit from a bomb. A gaping hole is torn in one of her gun turrets. Casualties are brought out and rushed to the hospital bay and within twenty minutes of the hit the cruiser is back in action again.
