- Summary
- Flying Fortresses return to an English base after bombing raid. Many of them have been hit, and one is seen landing in a field. This is where the 8th US Air Force and Service Command unit comes into its own. A truck arrives and uses balloon type bags to raise the B17 to its right level and work begins on repairing the engines, and parts of the wing and fuselage are replaced. Another B17 is seen to belly land and the crew step out to see what damage is done. Repair men jack up the aircraft and then use tractor trolleys to move it across airfield.
